Tsk!

I've got to really get down to wiping this mirror clean one day!

M.O.D

A very M.O.D (Model off duty look), no?

Usually I don't do pants for school, but I reckon I wore this for my Webdesign class; 3 dreary hours of frost in the Mac lab!

Jacket, Hongkong. Grey off-shoulder top, Cotton On. Black zippered pants, Zara. Grey flats, H&M. Scarf and bag, Bangkok.

Higher

This was the day I broke my new pair of thigh high socks in!

They kept slipping down after I had to briskwalk all over school cause I was late (no big surprise huh). Which eventually negated my brisk walking as I'd stop at a little corner to tug them back up.
Late or not, I love them though; they kept me warm in chilly lecture theatres!
And, very B, no?
No????

Shirt, Dad's. Shorts, Topshop. Socks, Topshop. Grey ballet satin flats, H&M. Bag, Bangkok.

H&Madness

23rd Febuary, I would think. The day I did my guard duty rounds in H&M for 4.5 hours straight before I left the four story building!

Grey hooded top, Topshop. Jeans, Zara. Scarf and shoes, Bangkok.

Stuck in my head

While I think my style would be prep-meets-eclectic-weirdo, somehow, Alexander Wang's grunge aethestics has gotten to me.
His Spring and Fall '08 collections keep flashing in my mind as I get dressed in the mornings. Which led to me sneaking onto his website (in school!) and being enraptured by the visuals.

He has really captured the essence (oh dear, I'm beginning to pick up such nuaces from my British lecturer) of a M.O.D, a Model Off Duty, in his words, who is inherently cool, stylish and chic. Which gives me the pretext of having not combed my hair for the past year and leaving it in a tumble of stylish(I hope!) mess, just like an Alexander Wang girl.

Backdated

I know this is no excuse, but school really has been too much these few weeks, which explains the total lack of outfit posts, mainly because I'm too late these days!
Haha, but I can be punctual when I want to be, excuse me!

21st Feb, Thursday
Shorts and pullover (over shoulder): Topshop.

Watching love

I apologise for my utter lack of posts!
Blame it on Safari crashing while I was writing a post earlier today, my ever increasing pile of school projects and assignments, and damaged Macbook adaptor!

But I present to you the Youtube videos I've been indulging myself with, in between work breaks! Hehe!

My favorites this season, Coco and Freja get into the playful spirit of the song and are really cute together!

Freja 101, with interesting interview bits of Freja. Her voice totally surprised me; I was expecting a rather gentle and more girly voice, but instead its sort of bass and almost as if she talks with her tongue as close to the roof of her mouth. This lovely video also fails to mention that she bats for the other team, which totally oddly psyches me up!

Freja is too cute, really!

Xoxo!

One fashion muse

There is Anna Wintour with her structured fashion rules, Carine Roitfield with her french sophistication, and there is Taylor Tomasi. While she's not exactly in the ranks of the above mentioned, she is definitely one fashion juggernaut.

Blessed with gorgeous auburn locks and a milky complexion, the Teen Vogue Senior accessories director uses it well to her advantage, donning monochromatic outfits to accentuate her lovely tresses.

Doesn't help that she happens to favour her black MiuMiu bag, which so happens to be my Achille's heel.

It really says something that she is even giving me hair ideas when I usually dread doing anything to my hair, no?
A fashion muse, she really is.

Perfection

She is perfection, really. I can't stop staring at her sunny smile while I freeze in the comp lab! And her bag totally resembles this bag I was tempted to get from a junk stall in Hong kong, but decided in haste that it would need too much cleaning up... ah the regret kills!

Reasons why Singapore needs winter

At Paris fashion week, by the talented Sartorialist. I could stare for hours at these pictures of the idiosyncratically amazing outfits by each of the ladies picture below. Seriously, if only my winters didnt subsist of short vacations in Shanghai or Hongkong!

Which would mean tt I could technically expand my wardrobe by at least a third!

From one beautiful gown to another

Chanel Haute Couture S/S 2007

John Galliano Spring 2008 Couture

Who would have thought that that scruffy girl from Les Jeux des Enfants would clean up to become such a gorgeous lady? Especially one with exquisite penchant for couture gowns and ability to pull off such involutely stunning gowns!

PS: Sorry for my sudden MIA! Hk was madness and then the projects that came after that were worse! Will come back soon with more!  posts! Xoxo!

Too exhausting

School's been running me ragged!

Monday
Shirt: G2000, high waisted shorts: Topshop, shoes and bag: Bkk gems.

Tuesday
Then I got really tired and went for my go-to outfit that's way effortless and slack.
Shirt: Cotton On, denim shorts: Mango, shoes and bag: Bkk gems.

Tripping through the garden

I'm not the girliest and that is just about an understatement, what with my major aversion to pink and florals. But I think I really need this dress by Junya Watanabe.
I'll wear it spring through winter, with my 300 sandals, and sunny yellow slingpurse, and make merry happy all year long!

Sidenote: Yay, I can finally post again! The earlier 3 posts were done in school, hehe, because Blogger was rather determined in labelling me a spambot on my Mac the last few days!

Miuccia does Prada best

Lace overboard! Miuccia did what seemed like an unwearable collection this season, but of course we shall wait and see how the pieces would work in editorials.

Nonetheless, she's a genius when it comes to acessories, and especially, shoes!

Her imagination is all Prada ever needs.

A Prada Spring 2008 animation.
Amazingly surreal.

Erdem's landscape

I never thought what I learnt in my elective would come in handy, but...

This is abstract expressionism.
Correction: this is abstract expressionism done splendidly.

Not only is it not baffling (like many abstract expressionism pieces), it is also extremely wearable, even for spring.

"Like a landscape speeding past when you're on a train" was what inspired the colour palette of acid yellow, orange and purple, and it takes one creative mind, Erdem's to be specific, to translate the scene of nature into a piece of art.

"From the beginning, I decided to just go all the way with what I love." It seems like others are just starting to love what he does. That's the best, really, to make a mark with what you love. And Erdem has done it.

Kate does Doo.ri

"Jersey girl" Doo.ri was one designer I never bothered to follow, what with her signature redraping of jersery dresses and outfits.
Two things that would never have caught my attention: Fluidity and pink.
But I think Miss Bosworth here in Feb 2008's Vogue might have just made me take a double look and start marveling at the structured fluidity of the entire outfit in the spread.
I might just change my mind about the design concept of fluidity... but definitely not pink.
Ok ok, oyster pink's fine.

Pretty pretty Asprey

Known primarily for their top of the line jewelry pieces, Fall 2008 is Asprey's third ready-to-wear collection to date. The deisgner, Brit Hakan Rosenius, has had more than 2o years on the London fashion scene being the creative director of Paul Smith's rtw mens and womens' wear.

While this collection is nothing new conceptually, Rosenius has slipped in a bit of British charm, with subtle tweaks on the classic British trench and the Burberry check.
The result? A collection that more than complements their luxurious jewelry and a treat for the eyes.

The dulls

Told me mom that ever since CNY was approaching, my outfit colour palette has been limited to white, greys and blues, and she laughed. Cool mom, no?

Friday, 15th February.
Boat neck: Cotton On, shorts: Topshop, sweater: Nafnaf, scarf(around neck) and bag: Bangkok gems.

My hair!

The tips of my mane was singed today whilst I was peering into my pot of soup. The burnt stench was overwhelming and my hair had burnt curly tips. The horrors!

Sigh. Poor me.

Sorry I havent been posting much; been totally swamped with projects and assignments!

Tuesday, 12th Feb
Faux denim shirt dress: Cotton On, bag: Bangkok gem, shoes: C&K.
Haha I chickened out and wore my beggar shoes to school in the end. One day, one day I will muster the courage to proudly strap on my heels and stroll around the mountainous terrain of a school!

Calvin Klein, Spring 2005 RTW
Wednesday: CK colour inspired!
Top: Topshop, belt: my sister's wardrobe, navy sweater: Nafnaf, highwaisted shorts, shoes and bag: Bangkok gem!
